Through the promises of scripture, resources and professionals, we have everything we need to overcome any problem, challenge, or addiction we may face in our lives. He has given us His divinely inspired word in the Bible to help us prevail through the trials of life.
The Bible is the Word of God, and it is a beautiful love letter from the Lord written to his children.
“His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.” 2 Peter 1:3-5, English Standard Version (Emphasis Added)
When we are in the middle of a battle we never have to face our trials alone. God is with us and He cares for us! His plans for us are good. All we have to do is call upon the name of the Lord and we are saved!
No matter what battle you are facing today my friend, whether you are fighting to keep your marriage together, dealing with insecurity, rejection, shame, struggling to forgive or battling a pornography addiction yourself, there is hope. We can take the word of God and turn it into prayer.
Here are seven verses you can use to meditate on and pray when you are struggling.
- “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
- “So do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
- “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1
- “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
- “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near.” Isaiah 55:6
- “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19
- “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” 1 Corinthian 10:13
Press into God and His word to help you get through this trying time. Remember that you are dearly loved by the creator of the universe and He wants you to overcome and for your marriage to flourish.
