Dear Wife, Start Small

Dear Wife,

I see you there, on the edge of your bed as the tears drip down your cheeks.

I see the struggle in your eyes as you check out of the grocery store, your arms and your heart heavy with struggle.

I see your laughter fade into sorrow as you contemplate the distance you feel in your marriage.

I see the desire you want to have and the longing in your soul.

I see the effort you make and the pain when he brushes you away.

I see the face you make when the word spewed at you hits its mark.

I see the panic in your mind as you find out another baby is on the way.

I see the crushing in your soul as you find out another month will pass without a baby on the way.

I see the shame you hold in your soul when your husband reaches for you at night and you feel dirty from sins once done.

I see you wanting to make the jump from where you are to where you want to be – where you want your marriage to be. Wondering if there’s an easy fix or a cure-all.

I see it all.

I hear it all.

I know it all.

And it breaks my heart, too.

Because you, dear wife, are My precious one.

I crafted you, molded you, shaped you on purpose, for a purpose. I love you dearly and want so much for your life. I see the arrows the Accuser throws at you. I see when they hit and pierce your heart.

Dear wife, know that I am here. Right here, waiting for you to reach out. I’m steady and sure. I’m holy and pure. I’m true to My word. I am the Faithful One in this most unfaithful world. Reach out to me, I promise to catch you, hold you, comfort you, love you and grow you.

Start small. Just call out to Me and see what I’ll do for you.

Trust me.

I’ve got you, girl.
